We had to take a break because of other obligations so our kitchen project has been on hold. Vacant rental property and Mother's estate took a front seat for now. BUT....I was washing dishes the other day and Herbie happened to go to his workshop which is under the kitchen. He came back up to tell me that water was leaking down into his workshop. After I finished, he pulled stuff out and we discovered we had a leak in the wall behind the sink/cabinet area. So Mr. Destructo goes to work and finds the leaks (that would be 2!).
So I emptied these cabinets and I think we may be in line to go ahead and replace them although that hasn't been confirmed.
We had another setback yesterday. Our 15 year old dog, Misty, got a foot stuck between boards in a ramp from our deck to the yard. Herbie rescued her but in the process got bitten multiple times. He thought it was ok but overnight it became swollen and was hurting. He went to the doctor today and got some anti-biotics, pain pill, and a tetnus shot. Now he has to hold his hand up to help drainage. We now have several things on hold!
I know this isn't the typical renovation but do-it-yourself takes longer:)
